Speakers Bios:

Dr. William Dapper DDS, MAGD, DICOI, FAAID, DABOI and Dr. Nicholas Shubin DDS, FAGD, DICOI, FAAID, DABOI are general dentists who graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1985.  These clinicians have been awarded the Diplomate of The American Board of Oral Implantology/ Implant Dentistry, Diplomate of The International Congress of Oral Implantology and Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Currently, both doctors are in private practice in San Clemente , CA and San Juan Capistrano , CA respectively. Each doctor has received a faculty appointment at UCLA, AEGD Department of Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Dapper, a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and Dr. Shubin, a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry , emphasize full mouth rehabilitation, osseous regeneration and implant dentistry in their daily practices. Both doctors completed the Branemark surgical residency in Gothenborg , Sweden in 1996. They are the founders of the California Academy of Implant Dentistry, 2003, located in San Juan Capistrano , CA , where they instruct general dentists in the art and science of implant placement. The Academy’s continuum is a logical, comprehensive, evidence-based approach to surgical and prosthetic implant therapy. These clinicians have spoken at the World Congress of Oral Implantology 6 in Honolulu, Hawaii, the Biohorizons International Symposium 2004 and Global Symposium 2007, the Annual Southern California AGD in September 2005, the Annual California AGD meeting January 2006, The Jeil Annual Bone Regeneration Symposium, Main Podium,  Seoul Korea,  2006, The13th National Conference of Indian Society of Oral Implantologists, “Implant Placement in the Esthetic Zone”, Main Podium,  New Dehli, India, 2006 and the Osteogenics’ 1st Annual Southern California Bone Grafting Symposium San Diego, CA 2007 and the 2008 American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry annual meeting in New Orleans.

These doctors have undergone extensive training in the field of Implant Dentistry and Osseous Regeneration and have completed many mini residencies and advanced implant training, including the following: The Branemark Surgical Clinical Training Course, Gothenborg, Sweden, 1996, The Nobelpharma Mini-Residency, 1995, Loma Linda Implant Mini-Residency 1994, The Sterioss Mini-Residency 1997, The Advanced Bone Grafting Course for Dental Implants, Dr. C. Misch, Advanced Bone Grafting through the MAP Institute with Dr. M. Pikos and The Implant Team Systems, Dr. Dennis Smiler, 1997 - 1999. Dr. Dapper and Dr. Shubin have studied with Dr. Terry Tanaka at the University of California, San Diego Medical School in the Study Group for TMJ and Restorative Dentistry since 1990. They are currently affiliated with The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, The American Academy of Implant Dentistry, The Academy of General Dentistry, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the ADA.
